Spaces & Availability

Viewing Spaces

Go to Spaces in the navigation (or yoursubdomain.goodstay.com/spaces). You will see a grid of all your spaces with:

• Their name, type, and current status
• The current occupant (if any)
• Rate information

Adding a New Space

1. From the Spaces page, click New Space.
2. Fill in the name, type, capacity, daily rate, and status.
3. For daycare spaces, you should also fill in the Daycare Full Rate and Daycare Half Rate fields. These are used instead of the daily rate for daycare reservations.
4. For grooming spaces (stations), set the capacity to 1 (one pet per station at a time). Grooming pricing comes from the selected grooming services rather than the space rate.
5. Click Save Space.

Capacity for daycare spaces controls how many reservations can exist simultaneously on the same date. Goodstay enforces this automatically — you cannot accidentally overbook a daycare group.

Editing a Space

Click on a space's name or the Edit button to modify its details. You can update rates, rename the space, or change its status.

Space Statuses

You can update the status directly from the Spaces list using the Update Status button.

Reordering Spaces

Spaces can be reordered by adjusting their position value. The display order on the availability grid and reservation forms follows this position.

Availability View

The Availability View is a date-range grid showing which spaces are available, occupied, or blocked for any date range you choose.

Using the Availability Grid

1. Go to Availability in the navigation.
2. Set a check-in and check-out date range.
3. The grid displays each space as a row. For each date column, you'll see:
   • ✅ Available — no conflicting reservation or block
   • 🔴 Occupied — an active reservation covers this date
   • 🚫 Blocked — a Space Block covers this date
4. Click on an occupied cell to jump directly to the reservation details.

Daycare Availability Detail

For daycare spaces, click on a date to see the Daycare Day Detail panel, which shows:

• How many spots are booked vs. available
• Which pets are booked for that day
• The space's total capacity

Combined Boarding & Daycare Calendar

Use the View toggle buttons (Boarding / Daycare / Combined) on the Availability page to switch between:

• Boarding view — The standard space × date grid showing boarding reservation bars
• Daycare view — A capacity-based grid showing headcount per daycare space per date
• Grooming view — Daily appointment counts per grooming station with color-coded capacity
• Combined view — Boarding, daycare, and grooming information on a single page
